Pasig City officially launched its pet identification project through PET iCHIP (Microchip) Technology

September 2, 2022. Headed by Mayor Vico Sotto and City Veterinarian Dr. Emma Sanchez, Pasig City Government officially launched its pet identification project through PET iCHIP (Microchip) Technology as part of the municipality’s rabies eradication program. The objective of this project is to provide permanent traceability and identification tool as well as to promote responsible pet ownership.

Mayor Vico Sotto encourages Pasig City pet owners to have their pets microchipped. The RFID will be given for free to Pasig City residents’ pets. A schedule of the respective barangays will be posted on the Pasig City Veterinarian Facebook page.

A well-behaved dog received its Petichip and became one of the first recipients of the RFID.

The pet owner will receive a Pasig City Pet Passport that bears all the basic information about the dog and its unique 15-digit identification number.

Dr. Jun Punzalan presents PET iCHIP, an RFID that is widely used in the Philippines not only for traveling pets but also for endangered animal preservation and protection.
